Complaints & More Complaints about the LifeIonizer Company
Published by Alkaline Water Plus
It is important to actually question the integrity of a water ionizer company. After all, a water ionizer is an expensive piece of equipment and not only that, but the health of yourself and family are counting on you making informed decisions. This is why I will not do business with companies whose integrity is bad, who have employees that lie or who are secretive.
At the time of this original blog post, Nov. 21, 2012, the Life Ionizer company and after over a decade they are still pulling the same tricks. The problem starts with a lack of interest in the customer. But then also is compounded by evidence of greed and deceipt.
I just had a customer today (Dec. 2, 2024) tell me the following statement in an email (about their awful experience with the Lifeionizer company).
"I ordered filters and after getting the run around for 6 weeks, I cancelled the order and they wouldn't give me my money back. I had to file a complaint with VISA and they settled the dispute within two days."
Why I do not Recommend any Water Ionizers made by the Life Ionizer Company
I don’t normally say anything bad about a water ionizer company, other than of course Chinese-made water ionizers. However, I have had many people asking me about Life Ionizers. I used to sell Life Ionizers but due to conflicts with the company management I could no longer endorse them.
My original reason to distrust them is that they advertised their store to be a place people could visit, however when they found out I wanted to do some testing of their ionizers they wouldn't even allow me to come visit them or do any kind of public testing.
Historically the problem with their water ionizers is that they don't test well. They also have terrible filters, which is why they insist you get their extra "free" filters with your purchase. You are then expected to continue to buy these filters every year to maintain your warranty status.
Before buying a water ionizer customers should check out water ionizer companies with the Better Business Bureau. I highly suggest you read the actual reasons for customer complaints, as this may give you a fair picture of the character of those in charge within any particular company and they highlight problems that customers, like you, have had with that company.
Why do water ionizers have to be publicly tested?
Before I actually started testing water ionizers against each other I wasn’t able to differentiate the actual quality differences between water ionizers, especially with companies like Life (which had no comparison testing online).
All manufacturers claim to be the best. There was too much hype.
Life Ionizers had more persuasive advertising than others, but what I wanted was truth, not hype. How was I to tell a water ionizer’s real quality without testing it? This is why I absolutely insist on testing all water ionizers.
It’s still a mystery why Life Ionizers refused to be publicly tested. At the time I was a Life Ionizer dealer, and had no reason to distrust the company until they started pulling their tricks on me.
I arranged a time to do some testing and comparing, scheduled 3 weeks ahead of time, the Life Ionizer company representative at the time [Adam] cancelled my appointment the day before! He also refused to re-schedule for a different day. After this I got a call from the son of the owner, Ty, who explained to me that they did NOT want the Life Ionizers to be compared with other ionizers publicly by anyone.
Among all the other ionizer companies I sold for, only the Life Ionizer Company thwarted my efforts to publicly test their water ionizers. My point is not to tell the whole long story, but just to illustrate that the Life Ionizer’s refusal to allow me to test their water ionizers publicly or even visit their facility in Carlsbad showed a real leadership and ethics flaw in the Life Ionizer company.
Faulty Self-Testing
I test all water ionizers myself, but there is a reason I wanted to specifically test Life Ionizers. It's because their own tests are faulty. On my Water Ionizer Reviews page I speak more about this and have a picture to prove my claim.
