Learn How to Store Ionized Water
Published by Alkaline Water Plus
If you own a water ionizer then you should definitely learn the proper ways of storing ionized water, in particular ionized alkaline water.
Obviously if you’re going to drink the alkaline ionized water right away [within the hour] you don’t have to worry about “proper storage”, but there are going to be times when you’re going to work or going anywhere for longer than an hour, and that’s where knowledge about properly storing ionized water comes in very handy.
Storing Alkaline Ionized Water
Ionized water if it’s alkaline is hard to store [acidic water is easy]. If you don’t know the proper way of storing ionized water you could lose half of the ORP (antioxidants) and pH benefits in just an hour or two. This demo shows the very best and worst ways of storing ionized alkaline water.
When it comes to storing ionized alkaline water there is no better container than the new vacuum-sealed, food-grade, stainless bottles from Alkaline Water Plus. Vacuum Stainless Bottle
The worst way to store ionized alkaline water is in an open glass or cup. The second-worse way to store it is in a gallon-sized or larger plastic bottle/jug. Actually any plastic container will give you poor storage and so will any large container. Try to use containers that are quart-sized or smaller, so that once you open it you’ll easily consume it within the hour.
Seasoning the Stainless Bottles
There is very little maintenance required with the Vacuum Stainless bottles. Because you can’t see through them, it is perfectly acceptable [and good] to allow calcium, which is naturally dissolved in ionized water, to create a film on the inside of the stainless bottle. Don’t attempt to scrub the insides of the bottles. Rinse them out, or even use soapy water to shake around inside the bottle before rinsing if you want, but don’t scrub. The calcium layer is healthy and helps to make the water taste and store its best with these vacuum stainless bottles!
Because the exterior of the Stainless Bottles is shiny and painted, it only needs light rinsing and buffing with a soft paper towel every so often.
Mason Jars
The second-best container for storing ionized water is a mason jar, which can be purchased at WalMart for about $10.00/dozen. Mason jars come in 16 oz and 32 oz. sizes. Choose either or both. Just make sure to over-fill the jar in such a way as to have no air bubble.
Storing Acidic Water
Acidic water, is the reverse of alkaline ionized water, and can be stored anywhere and will easily, with no special effort, maintain its acidity perfectly until it evaporates.
