PH Balance in Plants: How I Turned My Mother’s Day Present into an Ionized Water Experiment
Published by Alkaline Water Plus
I’m always focusing on the benefits of alkaline ionized water, which is rightfully so, but I should take a moment to share my knowledge about the benefits of pH balance in plants.
Getting a PH Balance in Plants is Important Too!
If florists or botanists knew the benefits of the pH balance in plants I think they would all be investing in water ionizers! Ionized water has amazing benefits for plants! Plants like their water to be filtered and sligtly acidic. It’s not just the fact that it’s filtered that makes a water ionizer’s acidic water good for plants. It’s the fact that it has the correct pH [acidity or alkalinity] for what plants need to survive. Just as animals need alkaline water, plants need acidic. It’s interesting how plants have the opposite needs as compared with animals. Plants breathe in what we breath out [carbon dioxide] and they breathe out what we breathe in [oxygen], so it stands to reason that the pH balance in a plant would be somewhat opposite of people.
Here’s How I Turned My Mother’s Day Present into an Ionized Water Experiment:
I was admiring some roses I had received for Mother’s Day when my son came by. As I was filling a vase with acidic water he asked, “Why not put alkaline water in the vase?” I explained how plants survive better with acidic water whereas people are the opposite and need alkaline water. So, being a skeptic, he said “Are you SURE??? The stems are cut, and maybe that makes a difference.”
I was sure, but just for fun [and also to demonstrate to him] I set up an experiment. I took three comparable roses and put one in ionized acidic water, one in filtered water, and one in tap water. Each day for a week I’ve been taking a picture of the three roses. With the pictures below, see for yourself the beautiful freshness of the rose which has been able to get the proper pH [acid/alkaline] balance it needs.

The lesson to be learned here is that pH balancing is a big deal. It’s a real need that all living things have.
Plants really need to be pH balanced just like people
It’s just that what plants need to achieve their balance happens to be the opposite to what people need. So, if you love your plants, give them the acid water that you get from the bottom hose while you’re pouring alkaline ionized water for yourself and the people you love.
