Shipping and Returns

Free U.S. Shipping for Orders Over $500.00

If you live in the U.S., the shipping policies are:

  1. For orders over $500.00 we will only ship to the billing address if the order is paid by credit card. If the billing and shipping address are different on the order form we will attempt to contact you about it. We will refund the card and cancel the order if there is no resolution to the issue within two business days.
  2. If it's paid by PayPal we will only ship to a PayPal-verified address.
  3. Your shipping cost is virtually free when your order total goes over $500.00. In other words we waive your shipping costs.

Flat-Rate Shipping Charges for Other Orders

US orders totaling under $500. are charged a flat rate of $12.95. We often waive a good deal of the cost of shipping for our customers. For instance if the shipping actually costs us $22.00 you still just pay the flat-rate of $12.95. The flat-rate will not change no matter how many items you add to your order. This can add up to lots of savings for you, especially if you buy several items at once.

All Canada orders are charged a flat rate of $45.00.

Other international orders need to pay a variable-rate for shipping. We will give you a quote if you contact us. Note: International orders pay with wire-transfer, as stated in other locations on our site.

Signature Requirements:

All orders $500 or more will have signature requirements.

Shipping to a Different Address [Other than Billing]

We will sometimes require a wire-transfer in the event of an order, which totals over $500.00, being shipped to an address which is different than the billing address for the credit card used.

International Orders and Trials: [Includes Military Addresses]

If you live outside of the US or Canada, please contact us at support@alkalinewaterplus.com for an international invoice and instructions.

International sales are final. If you are an international customer, including someone with a military address, we welcome your order, however please note a few things:

  • Outside of the USA and Canada you may not place your order directly using the website, Instead, please contact us. The funds will need to be wire-transferred.
  • Email us with your Name, address, phone number and a list of what items you want, and we'll send you an invoice to use for your wire transfer.
  • After we receive your purchase request, we will send you an invoice, which includes our wire-transfer information.
  • The next step would be to send the funds. Once you send the funds via wire-transfer please notify us so we can keep our eye out for it. It helps if you attach a picture of your receipt for the transfer.
  • We normally ship international orders via USPS international priority mail.
  • Please note that your country may charge you duties, and in some cases, sales taxes, on your international order. These charges are beyond our control, and if you want more information about your country’s duties charges please contact your country’s department that handles that. We haven't gotten reports on these costs being very high.
  • International water ionizer orders do not qualify for the 60-day trial period or any trial period. Your product is guaranteed to be free of defect though. We also insure our packages, so that if your product arrives damaged it will be replaced free of charge.
  • You will be given customs tracking for your international order. Sometimes when the order arrives through customs you are sent a notice to come pick it up. If this happens and you fail to pick it up in a timely way and the order is shipped back to us, you will not qualify for a refund of the cost of shipping.
  • If the product arrives damaged to an international location, you will have to assist us in filing a claim with the shipping company. In all cases this will require saving the product in the shipping box (just as it arrived to you) in case the insurance company requires it. They usually want to see certain pictures, including pictures of the shipping label and package from different angles. But the requirements vary and without the actual package it's unlikely they'll approve the claim.
  • When your order would normally qualify for free shipping, such as with electric water ionizer orders, if you live outside of the US whatever the shipping charge is over $75.00 may be charged to you. Contact us to be sure.
  • Our electrical equipment [i.e., water ionizers] is 110v. Only certain water ionizers are able to convert to 220v. Contact us if you want to inquire about this.
  • All customers are responsible for shipping costs in the event of any future warranty issues.
  • We ship to most countries, but not to all. Generally it depends on our trade relations and track-records with shipping to that country. Please check with us if you have any questions about this.

In the Event of Damaged or Missing Items:

Our shipments are insured to make sure you get the products we send you in proper condition. They are a good, reliable company. But there is a responsibility of the customer in cases where an insurance claim is made. Our insurance company requires that you hold onto all packaging material and damaged items until the matter is resolved. So, just telling us about the issue is not enough. The insurance company may want specific pictures as "proof", so until we tell you it's okay to discard the packaging, hold onto it for your own sake. After all if your claim is disapproved we can't refund you.

Quote From Our Insurance Plan: "Claimants must: Preserve all of the packaging material and Damaged Items. Do not dispose of the packaging material or Damaged Items before a claim is completed as photographs or other proof of a claim may be required. Failure to comply may result in the denial of your claim due to insufficient evidence."

Contact us immediately If you think something about your product isn't working right. Occasionally damage can occur in shipping. If the shipping box appears damaged in any way we need to be notified so a claim can be filed. Again, please do not discard any of the shipping boxes or materials. In cases of a claim these will be needed.

If your product doesn't work the way you think it should do not attempt to repair it yourself. Don't ever attempt to repair equipment yourself, unless you are prepared to void your warranty. Attempts to repair products yourself can damage the equipment beyond repair and void your warranty or rights to refund.

Sometimes equipment only appears to be non-functional and is really a user-error. In these cases there is some part of the initial set-up that the customer doesn't understand yet. The very first thing we suggest you do is to go to the product page and read the entire page, top to bottom. In almost all cases the answer to your problem is right there. If it is still a problem, we can often resolve almost any issue over the phone or via email if you can't find the answer in the product page.

Also, related to shipping, please pay attention to the tracking we send you. It usually tells you an estimated delivery date. If a reasonable time has gone by and your haven’t received your products, please let us know so we can help you locate your package.

If a product arrives damaged it must be reported within 10 days of the date you received it.

Note: The performance of a water ionizer frequently depends on local water supply, because water ionizers don't always work the same in every location.  If your source water is from your own well; from a whole-house softener; below 50 ppm of Calcium (hardness) or over 150 you should give us a call to help you with it.

Returns Policies & Procedures

If you want to make a return, either email us or fill out a Request for Assistance form. Make sure to give us all the details about your issue. If there is anything whatsoever wrong with the machine we need to know that. The following category pages have detailed information about how to ship their water ionizers: for: AlkaVivaJupiterIoniaSmart and Nexus. It's good to read all about specific shipping protocols prior to initiating a request for return, just to make sure you don't make an irreversible mistake.

We only accept like-new returns within 60 days for a water ionizer (60-day-trial) or 10 days of receipt for all other products. In either event the product you are returning has to arrive to us in like-new condition.

In no uncertain terms we do not accept the return if it's missing packaging or was improperly shipped. If there is damaged in shipping, or even potential damage we will not accept the return. Improper shipping can cause internal damage to the water ionizer that goes unseen. For this reason we don't restock water ionizers that were returned to us in such a way that they could have such damage internally. You must put it back in the product box with all the foam-fitted pieces first and then put that box into a larger shipping box with so much packing in there that the product is fully cushioned against the rough treatment of shipping companies. If the integrity of the internal electronics has been potentially compromised by improper shipping we will not be able to accept the return.

Trial periods (60 or 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantees), mentioned throughout this website refer to water ionizers only [electric ones], and only for US orders. They have to have been maintained in their like-new condition the whole time you used it, and you have to have saved ALL OF THE PACKAGING & EVEN THE TINIEST PIECES, cared for the water ionizer, and returned it in such a way that it is like-new. If there are any signs of use or abuse, or if you lose or damage anything, including the original packaging, form-fitted foam pieces, protective coverings, etc. it will minimally cost you an extra amount for re-stocking.

Once we determine it's okay for you to return your water ionizer we'll assign an RMA number to your case and give you specific instructions for packing and shipping. Please don't pack or ship prior to this.

Once you have your RMA number and instructions you need to act quickly. But always feel free to ask us any questions you like. If after a 30-day RMA window we haven't received your return our support department will mark your case "closed".

Water ionizers must be returned according to our instructions. All parts [and manuals, DVD, internal filters, hoses, etc.], and even if it's a twist-tie for the electric chord we want it returned. It needs to look new (including the product box and product bags and cushions) and have no signs of usage.

A water ionizer must have been handled, packed, and shipped properly to qualify for refund. See your water ionizer's product or category page for how to pack it up properly. There are also tips and instructions for using your machine on that page as well.

Just a heads-up, never ship in just the product box. This would void your warranty and right to return. Put the properly-packed product box into a sturdy shipping box and pack it in snugly to ship.

The minimum re-stocking fee for a like-new return is 5%.

There is no trial period for anything other than the electric water ionizer itself and its own internal filter(s). Other Products, outside of the ionizer, are returnable only if in new condition, re-sellable and returned within 10 days of receipt. We charge a 5% restocking fee even when the product isn't opened.

Wet filters or filters out of their packaging are not returnable.

With pitchers or hydrogen machines, they must be unused and/or like-new in every way. If they were used in any way there will be a 20% restocking fee, or may even not be accepted, even if you were personally dis-satisfied with it or it didn't taste or work the way you wanted. We know these products work fine for us and taste good to us, but cannot guarantee everybody's taste buds and preferences. That being said, we do try to be very detailed in the product pages to let you know ahead of time all of the features and limitations of our products.

If the pitcher or hydrogen machine (or any product for that matter) wasn't used at all and is in "new" condition, literally ready for the shelf, there is still a 5% restocking fee.

Filters which are external to the water ionizer [such as reverse-osmosis units, remineralizers, or any of our filter sets] may not be returned if used...at all. This means if the wrapper is removed or seal is broken, it is non-refundable.

Please note: No return of any sort can be accepted without our prior authorization. Please make sure to email us or fill out the form to request our assistance and then wait for our response. It is very important that you ensure the safe return of your product. You are responsible for the safe return of the product even in circumstances out of your control, and for that reason it is your risk if you do not put sufficient packing material in the box or purchase insurance for your return shipment.

Summary: Shipping a Product for Return/Refund.

  1. Make sure you qualify (e.g.. Product is like-new and it is within 10 days of receiving it, or 60 days for electric water ionizer).
  2. Email us or fill out a request for assistance.
  3. Wait for our approval before you ship
  4. Follow our instructions for safe shipping as found on this Shipping/Returns page and the product page. The consequences of improper shipping are severe. You could potentially void your right to return, so please make sure to use due-diligence in following our guidelines.

Customer Costs for Returns of Undamaged Items:

Shipping & handling costs both ways are the responsibility of the purchaser, regardless of where you live, in the event of returns of undamaged items. Also, when returning undamaged items, the customer is responsible for waived shipping costs, taxes, customs, if any, unless they can be reversed or retrieved. There is normally an additional 5% restocking fee on returns of undamaged items to cover incidental costs, such as shipping materials, labor, etc. Please make sure you do not return items in a condition that is not like-new or cannot be re-sold. If it turns out that the item is not re-sellable due to use, neglect or damage done to the product, then depending on what it is, either a higher re-stocking fee will be assessed, or in some circumstances it may happen that no refund can be paid. In that case the cost of return shipping to you would be yours.

Warranties & Guarantees

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, if the defect is discovered within 10 days of receipt. Products are examined before being shipped to you, but in the event your product arrives with a defect it will be replaced free of charge. Inspect your shipping box. If it looks damaged, make sure the products inside have all arrived safely.

ABOUT HYDROGEN MACHINES

Hydrogen water machines and hydrogen gas machines offer the healing benefits of molecular hydrogen antioxidants without changing the pH of the water. They are not the same as water ionizers. All hydrogen machines, are only returnable if they are in like-new condition (meaning that all packaging, instructions, and parts are there and there is no sign of usage). You also must contact us within 10 days of receiving it. The returned machine must fit this definition of like-new. If it doesn't fit this definition, we cannot take it back. Even then, there is still a 20% re-stocking fee. Any costs of shipping (both ways) are also the responsibility of the customer.

All hydrogen gas machines are sold as final-sales, because we have to order them "on demand". We don't stock them. This means that an order for a hydrogen gas machine is not able to be cancelled after the order has been placed. We usually wait 24 hours before ordering, to give you a chance to cancel. But after that the sale is final.
