I recently noticed some very cheap water ionizers, so I researched them. In every case, the manufacturers were Chinese. Why is this? In China, the manufacturing of electrical equipment is often questionable. I can't tell you how many pH/ORP meters or other electrical equipment I've purchased from a Chinese manufacturer that broke within a few months or a year.
Something seemed wrong about the price being too low because I know what it takes to make a sound, working water ionizer. The number-one ingredient, platinum, sells at over $1500/oz. With that in mind, it didn't make sense how a company could sell a whole water ionizer for a fraction of an ounce of platinum. Forget the warranty and the claims; if the water ionizer is made in China, stay away from it. If they don't say where it was manufactured, stay away. The only countries that have mastered the science of making proper water ionizers are Korea and Japan. Even with that, you have to ensure that the quality and safety of the product have been adequately tried and are accurate.
